Tony Henley, Brooksville, Miss.: Do you think our defense will do a better job this week due to playing a better team even though we were suppose to win the game any way against Tampa Bay and were we that bad?
Mickey: That’s not a good enough excuse for not being better against the run than they were against Tampa Bay. To me, the biggest reason for being gashed for 174 yards rushing was poor tackling. No that’s too polite. Like bad tackling. Now it will help come Sunday night that the Cowboys are more familiar with the Giants running attack than they were with Tampa Bay’s, since the Bucs were running a new offensive system. But look, this time around, that will be Brandon Jacobs out there. They must step it up.
Kevin Ferguson, Chesapeake, Va.: Can we look to see more of a running attack this week, especially from Felix Jones? I would like to see some halfback screens to Felix as well. Whatcha think?
Mickey: Well you might have seen what you’re looking for last week had Felix Jones not suffered that quad bruise on his first carry of the game. That somewhat limited his availability, especially since he wasn’t running aggressively with the bruised thigh. But if he’s healthy, and he has been practicing all week so far, throwing to Felix in the flats and on screens is one way to slow down the Giants pass rush and blitzes. I’m with you on this one. Turn Felix loose.
